Test guide
Helicobacter pylori Stool Antigen
A non-invasive stool test for active H. pylori infection, suitable for both diagnosis and verification of eradication.
What it is for
Diagnoses active H. pylori infection in dyspepsia workups and confirms eradication after therapy, guiding eradication regimens without endoscopy in appropriate patients.
Limitations
False negatives can occur shortly after antibiotic, bismuth, or acid-suppression use — eradication checking requires an appropriate washout period. Results depend on specimen handling; kits specify storage and timing. A positive family contact history alone does not require treatment without clinical assessment.
Before you test
Eradication confirmation requires the washout interval stated by your clinician (typically around four weeks after therapy). Follow the kit’s collection and storage instructions.
