This test measures the amount of creatine kinase (CK) in a sample of your blood. CK is also called creatine phosphokinase (CPK).
Indicadores
An enzyme complex that can reversibly convert ATP and creatine to phosphocreatine and ADP. Cytosolic creatine kinases are comprised of homodimers or heterodimers of creatine kinase B-type protein and creatine kinase M-type protein. Mitochondrial creatine kinases are octomers comprised of either four homodimers of creatine kinase U-type, mitochondrial protein or four creatine kinase S-type, mitochondrial protein homodimers.
Pruebas
The determination of the ratio of creatine kinase BB compared to total creatine kinase present in a sample. The measurement may be expressed as a ratio or percentage.
Pruebas
A quantitative measurement of the amount of heterozygous MB-type creatine kinase present in a sample.
Pruebas
The determination of the ratio of creatine kinase MB compared to total creatine kinase present in a sample. The measurement may be expressed as a ratio or percentage.
Pruebas
The determination of the ratio of creatine kinase MM compared to total creatine kinase present in a sample. The measurement may be expressed as a ratio or percentage.
Pruebas
A measurement of the metabolic rate of the glutamate-glutamine cycle in a biological specimen.
Pruebas
The determination of the ratio of glutamine compared to creatine present in a sample. The measurement may be expressed as a ratio or percentage.
Pruebas
The determination of the ratio of lactate compared to creatine present in a sample. The measurement may be expressed as a ratio or percentage.
Indicadores
A non-essential amino acid in humans (synthesized by the body), Serine is present and functionally important in many proteins. With an alcohol group, serine is needed for the metabolism of fats, fatty acids, and cell membranes; muscle growth; and a healthy immune system. It also plays a major role in pyrimidine, purine, creatine, and porphyrin biosynthetic pathways. Serine is also found at the active site of the serine protease enzyme class that includes trypsin and chymotrypsin. (NCI04)
