Indicadores
One of nine essential amino acids in humans (provided by food), Leucine is important for protein synthesis and many metabolic functions. Leucine contributes to regulation of blood-sugar levels; growth and repair of muscle and bone tissue; growth hormone production; and wound healing. Leucine also prevents breakdown of muscle proteins after trauma or severe stress and may be beneficial for individuals with phenylketonuria. Leucine is available in many foods and deficiency is rare. Glossary Term
A molecule of RNA 200-17000 nucleotides in length that is transcribed by non-protein coding areas of DNA. These ribonucleotides may play a role in a variety of biological processes.

A lipase test measures the level of lipase in your blood. Lipase helps your body digest fats . It's a type of digestive enzyme. An enzyme is a protein that speeds up certain chemical reactions in your body. Most of your lipase is made in your pancreas, an organ located behind the lower part of your stomach. Lipase is also made in your salivary (spit) glands and in your stomach.

Indicadores
Lipoprotein lipase (475 aa, ~53 kDa) is encoded by the human LPL gene. This protein is involved in the metabolism of triglycerides.
Indicadores
An alkaline earth metal, Magnesium is important for many biochemical functions and reactions; for bone and muscle function, protein and fatty acid formation, activation of B vitamins, blood clotting, insulin secretion, and ATP formation. More than 300 enzymes require magnesium for catalytic action. The adult daily requirement is about 300 mg/day. Magnesium is found in many green plants, vegetables, and seeds; chlorophyll is a magnesium-centered porphyrin compound. Magnesium salts are used for magnesium deficiency supplementation. (NCI04)
Indicadores
This gene plays a role in signal transduction and regulation of transcription. It is also involved in cell differentiation, growth and proliferation.
Indicadores
This gene plays a role in both protein phosphorylation and signal transduction.
Indicadores
This gene plays a role in mediating cellular responses to growth factors, metabolic stimuli and mitogens.
Indicadores
This gene is involved in transcriptional regulation and plays a role in the mediation of DNA-protein interactions.
Glossary Term
A class of RNA molecule containing protein-coding information in its nucleotide sequence that can be translated into the amino acid sequence of a protein.
