Indicators
Fibroblast growth factor 23 (251 aa, ~28 kDa) is encoded by the human FGF23 gene. This protein is involved in inhibition of renal tubular phosphate transport.
Indicators
This gene plays a role in hematopoiesis and may function as a growth factor receptor.
Tests
The determination of the amount of free epidermal growth factor receptor present in a sample.
Tests
The determination of the amount of free tissue factor pathway inhibitor in a sample.
Indicators
Glucagon (29 aa, ~3 kDa) is encoded by the human GCG gene. This protein plays a role in the regulation of blood sugar levels through the stimulation of hepatic glycogenolysis and gluconeogenesis.
Tests
The determination of the amount of growth differentiation factor 15 present in a sample.
Tests
The determination of the amount of growth differentiation factor 2 in a sample.
Indicators
Growth/differentiation factor 15 (308 aa, ~34 kDa) is encoded by the human GDF15 gene. This protein plays a role in both tissue differentiation and signal transduction.
Tests
The determination of the amount of hepatocyte growth factor in a biological sample.

Indicators
A nonessential amino acid derivative formed during post-translational protein modification through hydroxylation of the amino acid proline by the enzyme prolyl hydroxylase which requires vitamin C as a co-factor. Hydroxyproline is a major component of the protein collagen and plays a key role in the stability of the collagen triple helix. It can be used as an indicator to determine the amount of collagen. Increased hydroxyproline levels in the urine and/or serum are normally associated with degradation of connective tissue. Vitamin C deficiency decreases the conversion of proline to hydroxyproline, which leads to reduced collagen stability.
Tests
This test measures the amount of IGF-1 (insulin-like growth factor 1) in your blood. IGF-1 is a hormone , a chemical messenger in your bloodstream that controls the actions of certain cells or organs. IGF-1 manages the effects of growth hormone (GH) in your body. Together, IGF-1 and GH promote normal growth of bones and tissues.
