Tests
Coagulation factors are proteins in your blood. They help form blood clots to stop bleeding when you have an injury. These proteins are also called clotting factors. You have several different types of clotting factors that are all important for making blood clots.

Tests
A measurement of the efficiency of coagulation of a biological specimen. This is calculated by a mathematical formula that takes into account the R value, K value, angle and maximum amplitude of clot formation.
For professionals
Tests
The determination of the ratio of the biological activity of factor XIV dependent coagulation in a subject's specimen when compared to the same activity in a control specimen. The measurement may be expressed as a ratio or percentage.

Tests
A partial thromboplastin time (PTT) test uses a blood sample to measure the number of seconds it takes for your blood to clot . Normally, when you get a cut or injury that causes bleeding, many different types of proteins in your blood work together to make a clot to stop the bleeding. These proteins are called coagulation factors or clotting factors, and your liver makes most of them.

Tests
A clotting test measuring the extrinsic pathway, standardised internationally as INR to monitor vitamin K antagonist therapy and assess bleeding risk.

Tests
A prothrombin time (PT) test measures how many seconds it takes for a clot to form in a blood sample. Since the results of this test can vary with different labs or test methods, your results may be used to create an INR (international normalized ratio). Using this ratio makes it easier for health care providers to compare and better understand results from different labs or test methods.

Tests
The determination of the ratio of the biological activity of reptilase dependent coagulation in a subject's specimen when compared to the same activity in a control specimen. The measurement may be expressed as a ratio or percentage.

Tests
A two-staged test with purified coagulation factors in the first stage, and a FXa-specific chromogenic substrate in the second stage. In the first stage, diluted sample plasma, which has been treated with Al(OH)3 to remove prothrombin, is mixed with a combined reagent (human serum, factor V, phospholipids and calcium). In the second stage, a subsample from the first stage is mixed with normal plasma, providing prothrombin and fibrinogen, and the clotting time is measured to deduce the amount of FVIII present.

Tests
The determination of the biological activity of von Willebrand coagulation factor cleaving protease, ADAMTS13, in a sample.
