Glossary Term
The goodness of fit statistic for the terminal elimination phase, adjusted for the number of time points used in the estimation of Lambda z.
Tests
The determination of the amount of adrenocorticotropic hormone present in a sample.
Glossary Term
The adhesion of a gas, liquid or dissolved solid chemical of interest onto a solid surface.
Glossary Term
The strength of noncovalent chemical binding between two substances as measured by the dissociation constant of the complex.
Tests
The determination of the amount of aggrecan chondroitin sulfate epitope 846 present in a sample.
Indicators
This gene is involved in signal transduction and negative regulation of apoptosis. It also plays a role in glucose transport, glycogen synthesis, protein synthesis and neuronal survival.
Indicators
This gene plays a role in glucose homeostasis and the inhibition of apoptosis.

This gene is involved in signal transduction and the inhibition of apoptosis.
Glossary Term
A volatile liquid prepared by fermentation of certain carbohydrates. Alcohol acts as a central nervous system (CNS) depressant, a diuretic, and a disinfectant. Although the exact mechanism of CNS depression is unknown, alcohol may act by inhibiting the opening of calcium channels, mediated by the binding of the inhibitory neurotransmitter gamma-amino butyric acid (GABA) to GABA-A receptors, or through inhibitory actions at N-methyl-D-aspartate (NMDA)-type glutamate receptors. Alcohol inhibits the production of antidiuretic hormone, thereby producing diuresis that may lead to dehydration. This agent kills organisms by denaturing their proteins.
Tests
The determination of the amount of aldolase present in a sample.
Glossary Term
Pertaining to a portion of the whole; any one of two or more samples of something, of the same volume or weight.
